Ralph Vaughn
President

Ralph Vaughn knew at the age of six that radio broadcasting would be his career. During the next 11 years, he "learned from the best" (as he puts it) -- the announcers on WSM and area Middle Tennessee stations. I would spend hours mimicking the way those announcers sounded their words, read commercials or the news.

After dreaming that dream for more than a decade, his break came during the summer of 1965 when WJLE in Smithville had a contest: “DJ for the Day”. He won the contest and was invited to be a guest DJ on a Saturday afternoon. That was the beginning of a 21-year-career; WJLE -- Smithville, WBMC – McMinnville; WGNS –Murfreesboro. 15 of those years was General Manager of WJLE.

Ralph retired from radio in 1986 and then was president of two 501(c)(3) organizations until 2006. He is now Special Projects Director for Barrett Firearms in Murfreesboro.

Sharon currently serves as General Manager at 88.1FM WFSK at historic Fisk University, since late 2005, making her the first female to serve in that capacity in the station’s history.  WFSK (formerly WRFN) signed on the air in 1973.
